life since the baby has come...

I know this blog is supposed to be about my baking, but I just had to share a little about whats been going on recently. As you all know I was very pregnant in the last posts, our baby boy finally made his arrival april 26th. I had to be induced because he was so stubborn, I walked around dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced for a month, waiting for him to come!! The doctor, my family, friends, everyone thought he was going to come way early, but he did not. Our beautiful baby boy was born at 3:42pm on April 26th, he weighed 8lbs 2oz and was 22in long. (my dr was glad she didn't make me wait longer to be induced, he was a big boy already.)

My world has changed so much since the arrival of our sweet son Jaxon, I am sleep deprived, always doing for Jaxon, I forget to eat, our house is always a mess, I haven't stopped doing laundry since I came home from the hospital and I was an emotional wreck for the first couple of days, BUT I wouldn't change it for the world :)

I LOVED being pregnant and I LOVED giving birth. THE COOLEST EXPERIENCE in my life thus far. Being a mommy is challanging and very hard at times, but so rewarding. I miss being pregnant already and Jaxon has only been out of my tummy for three weeks lol... I also can't wait to give birth to another child :) I know Im freaking crazy...

Jaxon is definently NOT an easy baby :) this child is stubborn as stubborn gets, fussy as fussy gets, but so sweet and so worth it!! God gave Dane and I a challenge when Jaxon was born, but we have risen to the occasion and it has blessed us both!! Like many people have said to us, this whole experience has shown how much Dane and I love eachother and how strong our relationship is. Jaxon has Major tummy issue(things are getting MUCH MUCH better now though) but the first few days he would cry and cry and scream pretty much all night, but Dane and I have yet to fight, bicker or rip eachothers heads off. We have come together as a team and worked SO well together to take care of Jaxon.

I do want to brag for two seconds :)
I have the best Fiance in the world. From what I hear, most husbands/boyfriends/fiances don't help out too much when it comes to having the baby home. But Dane will stay up all night with me if I let him, wakes up at every feeding to make sure i don't need anything, lets me pass out while Jaxon is throwing a major tantrum and just deals with it, changes diapers, loves to feed him, has washed so many bottles, dishes and made so many dinners for me. I am so blessed and so thankful!!

Im getting back into baking again since im feeling much better, so more post soon with some sweet treats!!!

My sister in law's sister is also preggers and she is only a week ahead of me. (CRAZY HOW EVERYONE IS DUE AROUND APRIL RIGHT NOW) it must have been in the water!! and still EVERYONE is getting pregnant right now I MEAN EVERYONE!!! so if your not into gaining 25+ pounds, stretch marks, cravings, morning sickness heartburn and the back ache oh and can't forget the beloved pregnant waddle:) Stay away from the water hahah ;)
No im just teasing being pregnant is probably the best thing I have experienced in my life thus far. INCREDIBLE experience. I always tell my fiance that i wish he could be pregnant too so he got to feel fetal movement and all that fun stuff.
Well anyway back to the point!! My sister in law's sister had her shower the other weekend, (she is having a baby girl)!! So i made her some pops for the shower. They turned out so precious I loved them!!

Baby Shower PoPs

I recently had my baby shower and being the control freak I am I had to make my own cake pops and cupcakes for the Shower :)

Doing more for another shower this weekend. Except for a girl so that will be fun to get some pink in my life. Everything has been blue for a while, I guess that comes along with having a baby boy right??

Behind The Times

Life is nuts
No life is crazy absolutely crazy right now. Preparing for a baby, doctor appointments, baking, work, being tired and crabby. All of this is so time consuming ;)

I know I'm super late on this but I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentines day! I know I did! I did so many cute orders for Valentines day(which I loved every second of) I even got a nice email from one of the girls who received a cake pop bouquet from her fiance saying that she loved it and it was so delicious. That just warms my heart!!

I know I know its only January 11th, but I get super excited for Valentines day. . .
all the beautiful pink and red colors floating about in the stores and the yummy treats and flowers that go hand and hand with Valentines day get me all smiley:)

So I'm sure many people have seen the popular show Cake Boss!!
Since my fiance and I don't believe in paying an ungodly amount of $$$$ for cable, especially when every time you turn the tv on there is NOTHING on to watch anyways, we have been watching cake boss on netflix!
Being a baker I love the show, I love his creations and the drama of the show. My fiance on the other hand hates that they push the dramaticness in the show and hates that his big huge italian family is SOOOO loud and obnoxious. He also hates that they use rice crispy treats to build some of the cakes because in his eyes its not a real cake if you aren't using all elements of cake!! Its acutally hard to watch the show with him because of all his bratty comments :) But I still love him, he just doesn't appreciate the true art of dramatic television hehe!!
Well in a few of the past episodes they have made cakes filled with cannoli filling and have made cannolis for certain special occasions. Well I have never had a cannoli in my life, but boy did they look delcious. Every episode that has this creamy cannoli goodness filling cakes makes my pregnant body drool!
So tonight while I was sitting there itching to bake something and trying to come up with something different that I haven't seen before, I thought YESS thats it cannoli cupcakes!!
So here they are I started with a white chocolate cupcake, filled it with this cannoli goodness and topped it off with a creamy whippy chocolate frosting!

Yum I love the cannoli filling. its not too sweet and its light and creamy!!

The New Year

2012 huh. Crazy right?
I am excited to see what the New Year will bring
I will be bringing my first baby into the world,
I have many goals set that I am going to acheive
& I'm sure the year will bring along many good and bad suprises!!

As you know I am having a baby boy:)
My wonderful Fiance suprised me today,
I have been dreading painting the baby room,
so today we got our old clothes on to paint
and my fiance opened the door and it was all done!!
I was so HAPPY!!! It looks perfect, we still have to add a few
final touches and we have a couple of really cute jungle vinyls
to decorate the walls but here it is.

I haven't had much time for baking the last few days but hopefully soon, and when it happens ill be sure to post some yummy pictures!
